Five days in Havana. Hardly enough to really glimpse the city and the country for what it is, but enough to know that there is a world of difference between its Caribbean colours and Seattle’s moody skies. Our whistle-stop tour through the city is remembered by the warm hospitality of its people, the proud history of the nation, and the realisation that Cuban Spanish is far more forgiving than the rapid-fire Spaniard tongue. That, and endless searches for Wi-Fi hotspots, accessed through one ETECSA scratch card at a time…
